Basic knowledge for beginners  

・Daito-ryu Aiki Jiu Jitsu contains unique and secret techniques taken from the Kai Takeda family to the Aizu clan. The purpose of Daito-ryu is to train the body and mind by repeatedly practicing techniques according to your level of proficiency. The techniques are practical and anyone, young or old, male or female can take lessons for self-defense or for healthy exercise. If you are a new-comer or have no experience, please feel free to come and observe a class.
・For training purposes, you will need to have an Aikido, Karate or Judo uniform, but you are welcome to observe a class first before purchasing a uniform.
・First of all you will learn proper etiquette and manners used in the dojo. This is the basis of Budo. ‘Budo begins with courtesy and ends with courtesy.
・In Aikijujutsu, there are many techniques that can be used to control an opponent quickly. Therefore, it is essential that care is taken to avoid injury at all times during training. For this reason, it is important to practice ukemi (how to breakfall) repeatedly.
・In the dojo, we teach in a fun and careful way, according to your own level of proficiency. Even those with no previous experience in martial arts, young or old, can learn to perform the techniques through practice.
・Aikijujutsu does not require a great deal of physical strength as most martial arts do. Aikijujutsu is enjoyed by both men and women of all ages, including primary and secondary school students, and people in their 70s and 80s.
